1. Players will be ranked on a table according to...
Points awarded in 'League Season' (4) above.
Score Difference - scored points in each match-up minus points scored by opponents.
Points scored will split the players if the above two methods are not able to.
2. If the methods in (1) are not enough to separate players come finals time, the head-to-head record will be used, with an 'away goals' rule employed (double points scored when 'away').
3. If (2) is still not able to determine a distinction, a coin will be tossed once to split players. This will only be done in the presence of another independent member of the FMICL community. This will only be used in cases where a split must be required (ie. finals spots, minor premierships, relegation spots etc).
FINALS SYSTEM:
1. Finals matches will be elimination matches, for the best teams from each division spread over 4 weeks.
2. Finals matches will be played as a one leg match, with players tipping the normal allotment of games as per the 'League Season' above.
3. The points scoring system documented in 'League Season' above continues. If you tip the most winners, you are the Finals match-up winner and you progress.
4. Draws are possible, but not permissible. The following 'Penalties'-type system applies if two teams draw a Finals/Cup match.
a) In the event of a draw, the games already tipped games will be used to break the deadlock.
b) The player with the highest score of the first four games listed in order will be declared the winner.
c) If the score from (4b) above is still tied, then each of the remaining 3 games tipped in order as they appear on the blog will be used to separate the players. 'Golden goal' / 'first to go ahead' rule applies.
d) In the event that the rules above fail to separate the players, additional games will be selected and played, under the scoring system as per (4c).
e) If this has still not clearly separated the two players, a coin toss will be employed. This will only be done in the presence of another independent member of the FMICL community.
5. Finals are only to be played after the finish of both of the two season halves. Qualifiers for finals will be selected from players in each division, and ranked according to their overall season performance (regardless of division). The best 5 in each division will play finals.
