Apr 11:
All the results are in, and we are both narrowing down the promotion and relegations players, and we also know our Cup winner for 2015-16.
In the Cup the final match results were.
MW | M | HOME | AWAY | SCORE | RES | MRG | ASpe | Etha

| 1 | [+] | Liverpool | vs | Stoke | [-] | 4 | 1 | H | +3 | H | 1 | H | 1 | |

5 | [+] | Sydney FC | vs | Perth Glory | [-] | 4 | 0 | H | +4 | A | -2 | A | -2 |
And these match scores made the final of the Cup finish as:
@ASpeedingCar | 2 | |
@Ethan_Meldrum | 1 |
This makes the about-to-be-relegated Car come away with silverware.
A handy cup run to offset the relegation.
Congratulations to the 2015-16 FMICL Cup winner, in the colours of Nottinham Forest,

Now to the regulation league play, and there is some clarity in the tables.
The games finished as:

Amul draws with FMI in a 5-all scoreline to retain the belt, and also ensure FMI is still fighting relegation.
Rosso's draw and the Sarge's win are vital for their top of the league chances. At the bottom Ben's loss might see him go down, while Dem's win could be vital.
In D2, Cody draws while Mercado's win could alter the promotion stakes. Add to that, AndrewM had a win to and the promotion battle is still on.
As before, the relegated players are known. And the Guru coughs up the belt in the lowest scoring game of the week to Goss.

The top of the table showdown between Nick and Smithy ends in a draw, while the other promotion chasers Melatonii and RKW both trip up and lose. Rudi also drops the belt to the Theorist.
TO the tables, and as before, under the red line are those headed for relegation, and above the green line means you are still looking at promotion / division titles.

Huge week next week!

MattB sits above the green line as he could finish second provided he scores a big win, Andrew doesn't win and Cody loses.. by a lot. Probable? Possible?
Also if Mercado loses and AndyM wins, the SD will also come into play.
At the bottom of the table, the Cup king the Car and Henry go down, and go down hard. A full 2 and a half games off the pace with one to play.

The draw between Nick and Smithy and the others' losses sees them secure promotion.
Rudi will finish last, while second-last could fall to anyone from 7th down.
Apr 9:
During the season I have often wondered why I run a separate Cup competition. It is extra work, it needs you to do more thinking and entering, and the majority of players have one or maybe two cracks at it before being eliminated. Do people really care about the Cup.
And then only when we get to the pointy end it becomes clear why I run a Cup.
It gives more work, but it also gives more stories.
Two weeks ago in the Semi's we had 4 players from across all three divisions playing, and this week its Ethan from D1 against The Car from D2.
Ethan finished 5th in the opening half of the year and sits 5th again now. Not out of relegation calculations yet with 2 to play. The Cup Final win could be a nice reward for consistent effort all season.
The Car is another story all toghether. A moderate opening half of the season in D2 meant a mid table finish. But the second half of the season has been a disaster, with only 3 wins from 16 games, and relegation to D3 unfortunately secured.
And this is why we have a Cup. Its a chance for someone battling away without applause to secure some (virtual) silverware.
The Cup Final tips are:
MW | M | HOME | AWAY | SCORE | RES | MRG | ASpe | Etha
35

5 | [+] | Sydney FC | vs | Perth Glory | [-] | A | -2 | A | -2 |
And the Final hinges on two games - Reading v Birmingham and Valencia v Sevilla.
Which means 'we could be back here next week!'
The regular league play is also down now to the business end...

Yes that's an unfortunate guaranteed draw for Cody, who could lose top spot this week in D2.
Also Nick and Smithy have 5 different tips in their '6 point' D3 promotion battle as well... will be interesting tracking this over the weekend.

BenC Needs to win to avoid relegation, while Harri must win to keep open his chance for the title.
Amul and FMI both need three points to stave off relegation. So to for Dem and J_F.
Mercado and MattB both play the relegated pair, and will need three points to keep promotion alive. Andrew and Kosi are both need to win to keep promotion hopes alive.
Massive top of the table game with Nick vs Smithy that could decide the Division title. The Theorist and Rudi also need the win to avoid last place on the table and of all 32 players.
